Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides (PN’s) are like nature’s repair kit for our skin. They help fix and renew cells, keep skin hydrated, and shield it from external factors like UV rays. They help create a good environment for special cells called fibroblasts, which are essential for repairing the tissue.

FAQs

Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides, which are essentially the building blocks that makeup DNA. DNA controls how our skin develops, so when we introduce polynucleotides, they help damaged DNA cells in the skin to repair and as a result, the cells function better. Polynucleotides stimulate fibroblast cells, which then boost the production of collagen and elastin, which as we known are essential for skin shape, volume, and a youthful appearance.

Absolutely not. It’s a non-invasive low-risk treatment. Obviously, this depends on your practitioner, but this should not be a painful treatment.

So, to get the best results, you will need 3-4 sessions. This is to get the body to respond positively to the product. We use micro-injections to place the polynucleotides safely into the associated area.

The risks are a lot lower than that of a dermal filler as this is not a hyaluronic acid gel. The most common risks with injectable treatments such as polynucleotide treatments will include some possible bruising and swelling following treatment. Given our expertise and experience, we can assure you this will be kept to a minimum.

Polynucleotides can hydrate, regenerate, stimulate fibroblasts and collagen production at a deeper level than that of skin boosters. Skin Boosters, despite their ability to hydrate, lighten and plump the skin, do not stimulate regeneration of the skin and their results are shorter-term. We are also able to treat other areas with polynucleotides including around the eyes and forehead region.

We are extremely excited with polynucleotides ability to improve the under eye (tear trough) region, especially for patients who are not suitable for dermal fillers in this area, or even as a complimentary treatment alongside dermal filler.

Polynucleotides can also be in areas such as:

  • Eyelids upper and lower
  • Neck
  • Forehead
  • Hair
  • Hands
  • Lips
  • Décolletage (upper chest area)
  • Any fine lines on the face

Most people experience the best results within three months of completing a course of treatment. It takes 28 days after the first session for the body to start responding to the product. After this, results usually last for around six months, and then most people go on to have a single session for maintenance every 3-6 months.
