Why Choose Dental Health and Aesthetics?

In need of a professional Dental Hygienist near you?

Every patient’s risk factor for dental disease is carefully assessed by our Dental Hygienists. By doing so, we can tailor a treatment plan to meet your particular needs. During a dental evaluation, we can evaluate your oral health. As a result, we will demonstrate to patients of all ages the best ways to maintain excellent oral health. We will examine and explain:

  • Toothbrushing
  • Interdental cleaning
  • Using mouthwash
  • Managing bad breath
  • Fluoride advice to prevent decay
  • Dietary advice
  • Reducing stain
  • Manage Sensitivity

Additionally, we offer more tailored treatments for gingivitis and advanced periodontitis. A variety of gum problems such as bleeding gums, sore gums, recession and mobility of the teeth can occur. In order to fight gum disease, deep cleaning may be performed at specific sites. To limit any pain during the treatment, we may use specific tools and local anaesthetics (this can also be done for routine hygiene appointments if you have sensitivity). A specialist may be referred to you as part of the treatment process if further treatment is required.

Your hygienist will typically start your appointment by checking your teeth and gums to assess your overall health. As a result of this inspection, the hygienist can decide which cleaning methods are required.

The next step is usually scaling, which involves carefully removing tartar, plaque, and stains from the surface of the teeth and gum lines. In order to remove these superficial stains, your hygienist will polish your teeth thoroughly.

It is also possible that a fluoride or antibacterial gel will be applied if there are signs of decay. Your dentist will then be referred to you.

You don’t need to worry if you are nervous. The dental care professionals at our office have years of experience managing nervous patients and minimising any pain or sensitivity. For more information, follow us on Facebook.

Our dentists at the DHA Leigh-On-Sea Essex treat gum disease and prevent its occurrence. This is one of the UK’s leading causes of tooth loss;

There are two major causes of tooth loss:

  • Tooth Decay
  • Periodontal (gum) Disease

It is possible to prevent these conditions or take care of them quickly and easily if you follow a good oral hygiene regimen and make regular dental hygiene appointments. Maintaining a healthy mouth and achieving that smile you’ve always wanted begins with regular visits to our friendly dental hygienists.
